If anything can get me so mad to actually resurrect my tumblr, it’s definitley this. Although not surprised at all, I am just appalled at the things the mainstream media has done to just fuck with Ron Paul. He said something….he was right….and gets this on CNN
Seriously, WHAT THE FUCK!!! HE DIDNT BLAME THE US FOR ANYTHING!! CNN damn well knows that at gyms, etc, a lot of people watch CNN on mute. So what do they see. RON PAUL SAYS ITS MY FAULT FOR 9/11 !! For fucks’ sake, the same thing happened on Fox News and MSNBC.
In relevance to this situation, I supposed that I could get my thoughts on gun control of my chest.
On a personal level, I don’t think there should be. Of course, I think it’s states rights to decide, but that’s on a theoretical economics level.
This is my rational. I believe it will not increase the death count anymore, and may even prevent deaths.
1. Let’s say I’m walking down the street, and someone REALLY pisses me off. I want to shoot him. Let’s say I have a gun too (because despite gun control, guns will be as easy to get as before due to black markets created by the restriction). I want to shoot him. What’s stopping me? Oh yeah, the one person I don’t know that has a gun that is walking right beside me. Having no gun control is an ultimate opportunity cost. Shoot him, and risk my life? With massive gun control, shoot him, and have the chance to get away scotch-free.
2. More relevant to the Cho Virgina Tech story, these types of people like Cho are just fucked up mentally. They won’t bother thinking of that opportunity cost that I listed above. In that case, I’d DEFINITLEY want no gun control . Because regardless of gun control, this dude is just fucked up and is gonna kill people. Better he kill 1 person, god forbid, then 30 more.
So not only does gun control make that rational decision whether to shoot someone VERY hard to make, knowing that your life is at stake, but it also may lower the deaths that are part of these rampages.
